Cashier is responsible for providing fast, accurate, and friendly service at the point of sale. This includes processing customer transactions efficiently, handling cash and other payment methods, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The Cashier also supports the front-of-house operations by maintaining cleanliness and assisting team members as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Handling
Process customer purchases accurately using POS systems.
Handle various payment methods (cash, card, digital wallets) securely.
Issue receipts, refunds, and change as needed.
Customer Interaction
Greet customers politely and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Upsell or recommend items when appropriate.
Cash & Financial Accountability
Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor immediately.
Ensure all transactions comply with company policies.
Store Support
Assist in packaging orders and managing takeaway/delivery items.
Refill and organize front counter supplies.
Support colleagues in rush hours or special events.
Cleanliness & Presentation
Keep the cashier area clean and organized.
Ensure promotional materials and product displays are tidy and updated.
