The Greenbelt CO-OP Supermarket & Pharmacy is Greenbelt’s only community owned and operated Supermarket & Pharmacy. Greenbelt CO-OP Supermarket & Pharmacy is open to everyone, you don’t have to be a member to shop and save with us, though membership does offer many additional benefits.

Established in 1984, the Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket and Pharmacy is a full variety supermarket and pharmacy located in the Historic Roosevelt Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Its mission is to provide food, pharmacy and other consumer services to its members and the community of Greenbelt, Maryland. In keeping with its mission, the Co-op strives to support the community and other cooperatives.

Currently, nearly 11,000 members own and control this non-profit organization. The Co-op offers its customers a variety of traditional grocery items, natural and organic foods, beer and wine, a pharmacy and special events such as wine tastings, foods samplings and wellness programs.

As a cooperative, the store is committed to community. The Co-op offers a variety of educational opportunities through its food programs, wine tastings and the Consumer Corner which provides informational handouts, publications and recipes on healthy lifestyles and Co-op news. *Job Summary*

We are seeking a Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling cash transactions, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall success of the coop.

*Responsibilities*

- Monitor and support cashier staff in daily operations

- Process cash, credit, and check transactions with accuracy

- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly

- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area

*Requirements*

- Proficient in basic math for cash handling and transactions

- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members

- Knowledge of retail math for calculating discounts, taxes, and change accurately

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is a plus
