Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
• Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service through clear communication and friendly assistance.
• Upsell products and promote store specials or loyalty programs to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Maintain an organized checkout area by stocking supplies, merchandising displays, and ensuring cleanliness.
• Assist with product demos when needed to educate customers about new or featured items.
• Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
• Support inventory management through stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and participating in merchandising efforts to ensure attractive product presentation.

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse customers confidently and clearly.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve our diverse customer base effectively.
• Experience with POS systems is highly desirable; familiarity with retail math concepts is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise or assist team members during busy periods is advantageous.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stock management, and sales techniques will help you succeed in this role. Pay: $22.79 - $27.44 per hour
