Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions quickly and efficiently
• Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing questions and resolving issues with enthusiasm
• Upsell products and suggest additional items during checkout to enhance the shopping experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout areas, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays
• Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing new or featured items to customers
• Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing merchandise for easy access

Experience

• Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and bilingual abilities, are highly valued
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in guiding new team members or managing customer interactions
• Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of retail sales, merchandising, stock management, and grocery store operations will help you succeed
