Job Summary
A Cashier in the real estate sector is responsible for handling daily cash transactions, rent collections, customer payments, receipt issuance, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role supports property management and finance teams by ensuring all payments are processed efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process cash, cheque, card, and online payments from tenants, clients, or property buyers.
- Issue official receipts and maintain payment records.
- Handle rent collections, security deposits, and service charge payments.
- Reconcile daily cash collections and prepare cash reports.
- Deposit cash and cheques into company bank accounts.
- Maintain petty cash and monitor cash balances.
- Coordinate with the accounting department for transaction verification.
- Update payment details in accounting or property management systems.
- Respond to tenant or customer payment inquiries professionally.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Assist during audits by providing transaction records and supporting documents.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1–2 years of cashier or finance-related experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and cash handling procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems is an advantage.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
