Duties

• Operate the cash register accurately, handling all retail sales transactions including cash, card, and mobile payments.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
• Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers.
• Upsell related products or accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Manage cash drawer handling efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
• Stock shelves and merchandise displays to maintain an organized and inviting store environment.
• Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or follow-ups.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring stock levels are adequate.
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking and participating in periodic stock counts.
• Promote retail store product knowledge through ongoing learning about items on sale, including grocery or specialty products if applicable.

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
• Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
• Supervising experience in retail or customer service roles adds value to your application.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enabling you to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
• Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette are essential for engaging with customers professionally.
• Experience with grocery store operations or retail math helps in managing transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Knowledge of merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and retail sales strategies will set you apart.
