Customer Sales Associate
Position Overview
The Cashier / Customer Service Associate serves as the first and potentially final point of contact for customers in a retail furniture showroom. This role is responsible for greeting each customer, delivering outstanding service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a welcoming, professional environment in the store and at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities

Greet every customer warmly and assist with inquiries, order lookups, returns, and product or financing questions.

If necessary, start the sales process when the GM and sales associates are with other customers.

Accurately process sales transactions, exchanges, returns, and payments (cash, credit, checks, financing).

Operate the POS system and ensure proper cash handling, balancing the register at the beginning and end of shifts.

Communicate effectively with sales, delivery, and operations teams to ensure smooth customer experiences.

Maintain a clean, organized front counter and reception area that reflects the store’s professional image.

Verify order details, delivery schedules, and payment accuracy before completing sales.

Provide product or warranty information and assist with financing or layaway processing.

Handle customer concerns or complaints courteously, escalating to management as needed.

Support clerical or administrative tasks such as filing invoices, printing receipts, and verifying daily cash reports
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

1+ year of experience in retail, specifically in a cashier or customer service role.

Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy.

Basic computer proficiency (POS systems or order software).

Professional appearance and communication skills.

Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift items up to 25 lbs.
