Cashier / Hot Deli Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier / Hot Deli Worker to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food items, and managing transactions in a connivence store environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cashiering, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and food safety. This position offers an opportunity to work in a brand-new convenience store opening this spring, delivering quality service to our valued customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems for accurate transactions and sales processing
• Prepare and serve hot deli items, ensuring food quality and presentation meet company standards
• Handle cash, and credit card transactions, and perform basic math calculations for accurate processing
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their orders, and questions
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the deli and store in accordance with food safety regulations and company standards
• Restock supplies, organize the deli area, and ensure product freshness and availability
• Stock Shelves, coolers and other areas of the store
• Follow all food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and safety protocols

Requirements

• Previous experience in grocery retail, and food service, is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards
• Experience with POS systems is a plus
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
• Basic math skills for cash handling, and sales calculations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light loads as needed
• Ability to obtain a Food Worker Card and MAST permit is required
• Ability to pass a background check

Pay: $17.13 - $19.00 per hour
