Cashier/Barista

About the Role
Nick's, a busy full-service restaurant on 2nd Avenue, is seeking a reliable and friendly Cashier / Barista / Front-of-House Team Member to join our team. This position focuses on takeout and delivery order management, bar service, cashier responsibilities, and customer service.

The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment while interacting with guests both in person and over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle takeout and delivery orders including walk-in customers, phone orders, and online ordering platforms
• Enter orders accurately into the POS system and coordinate with the kitchen
• Answer phones and assist customers with orders, reservations, and general inquiries
• Record reservation or event inquiries for manager follow-up when needed
• Prepare beverages including coffee, espresso drinks, soda, beer, wine, and simple bar drinks
• Take orders and assist guests seated at the bar
• Pack and organize takeout and delivery orders accurately and efficiently
• Ensure orders are complete with utensils, condiments, and proper packaging
• Assist with bar setup and dining room setup before service
• Stock the bar with beverages, glassware, coffee supplies, and food items stored at the bar
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, cashier station, and dining room
• Restock takeout supplies such as containers, bags, utensils, and napkins
• Process cash and credit card transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer
• Provide excellent customer service to guests dining in and ordering takeout
• Assist team members during busy service periods as needed
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, café, barista, cashier, or front-of-house experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Comfortable answering phones and handling customer orders
• Experience with restaurant POS systems is a plus
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Day shift (great schedule for work-life balance)

Work Environment
Nick's is a busy neighborhood full-service restaurant with both dine-in and strong takeout/delivery business. We are looking for someone dependable who can help keep front-of-house operations running smoothly while providing great hospitality to our guests.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
