Cashier/Customer Service

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask.

Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selections.
• Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote store products and enhance sales opportunities.
• Assist with merchandising efforts by ensuring product displays are appealing and well-stocked.
• Perform stocking duties to replenish shelves and maintain inventory levels.
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new items or promotions.
• Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier area and throughout the store.

Skills

• Proficient in operating POS systems and handling cash transactions.
• Previous supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership abilities.
• Experience with product demos to effectively communicate product benefits to customers.
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable for better customer engagement.
• Strong phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
• Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of merchandising principles to enhance product visibility and sales.
• Retail sales experience, particularly in a grocery store setting, is preferred.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
