Responsibilities

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product recommendations and demos
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and properly displayed
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring satisfaction
• Upsell products and promotions to enhance the customer experience and increase sales opportunities
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Previous supervising or team leadership experience is a plus
• Ability to conduct engaging product demos for customers
• Bilingual skills to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Strong phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally
• Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash register operations and sales tracking
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments preferred
• Basic math skills for balancing registers and processing transactions accurately
• Familiarity with merchandising, stocking, and inventory management techniques
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
