Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision.
  • Greet customers warmly, answer their questions, and assist with product information or demonstrations when needed.
  • Handle cash, credit, and digital payments securely while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Upsell additional products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
  • Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the store remains clean and inviting.
  • Provide product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of various items.
  • Manage phone etiquette by answering inquiries professionally and directing calls appropriately.
  • Support team members with supervising experience by assisting in training new staff or guiding less experienced colleagues.

Skills

  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math to handle transactions confidently.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse customers effectively.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader customer base comfortably.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Experience in grocery stores or retail sales environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking techniques, and product placement strategies.
  • Ability to perform cashiering duties efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrated phone etiquette for professional communication over the phone.

Pay: $19.00 - $26.98 per hour
