Cashier/Sales Associate/Donations

Saint Vincent de Paul in West Bend is in search of a candidate whose position will be in donations, cashiering, and/or merchandising, full or part-time, available. Must be available evenings and weekends. Cashiering expertise preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

General Information

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families in need. Our thrift stores play a critical role in funding local assistance programs, while also providing affordable goods and direct support to the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and respectful manner
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
• Provide receipts for all transactions
• Answer customer questions and phone inquiries
• Support donation intake and provide receipts upon request
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor and dock area
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, fitting rooms, and displays
• Prepare and stock concession items
• Thank customers for supporting the mission
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Quickly assist customers
• Must have a positive attitude
• Keep dock area neat, clean, and organized
• Follow company guidelines, per the employee handbook
• Performs all other assigned duties

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred not required for High school students
• Be a role model in promoting the SVdP mission, values, and standards
• Display good leadership and communication skills
• Excellent in problem solving and a good motivator
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to make good decisions
• Good Customer Service Skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Ability to follow directions

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and move for extended periods
• Ability to use ladders and stairs safely
