The Category Manager at Ninja will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive sales and profitability across assigned product categories. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to effectively manage product assortments, pricing, and promotional activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive category plans that align with overall business objectives and financial targets
  • Analyze category performance data, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and procurement to optimize product assortments and ensure effective merchandising
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and availability
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt category strategies as needed
  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns that drive consumer engagement and category growth
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock
  • Conduct regular reviews of category performance and adjust strategies to optimize sales and profitability
  • Train and mentor junior team members in category management best practices


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in category management or related roles within retail or e-commerce
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful category strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of managing supplier relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present insights and recommendations effectively
  • Knowledge of the grocery or FMCG industry is a plus
