Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Catering Lead Cook for Special Events to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of food preparation for special events, ensuring timely delivery of delicious, visually appealing dishes.
- Develop and execute innovative menu plans tailored to client preferences, dietary restrictions, and event themes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including dietary aides and junior cooks, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on quality and efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation standards throughout all stages of meal preparation.
- Oversee food presentation and garnishing to ensure each dish meets aesthetic standards for fine dining experiences.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and maintain accurate records of ingredients and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with event coordinators to coordinate timing, portion sizes, and special requests to guarantee seamless service during events.
Skills
- Extensive dietary department experience with knowledge of dietary restrictions and special meal requirements.
- Proven dietary aide experience or similar roles supporting meal service in large-scale or specialized settings.
- Strong menu planning skills with the ability to create diverse menus that cater to various tastes and dietary needs.
- Fine dining experience demonstrating attention to detail in food presentation and service quality.
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices.
- Exceptional food handling skills with a focus on safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Restaurant or kitchen experience emphasizing high-volume meal preparation in fast-paced environments.
- Culinary experience with expertise in knife skills, meal assembly, and plating artistry.
- Knowledge of catering operations including serving logistics for large groups or events.
