A Cath Lab Staff Nurse provides direct care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures, focusing on patient assessment, monitoring vitals, administering medications, assisting physicians with equipment and interventions, maintaining sterile fields, managing documentation, and educating patients/families, often responding to emergencies and ensuring patient safety in a high-stress critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Preparation: Reviewing histories, confirming consent, administering pre-medications, performing ECGs, ensuring fasting compliance, and preparing the patient for the procedure.

During Procedure: Monitoring vital signs (ECG, saturation, hemodynamics), managing sedation, assisting the cardiologist with equipment (e.g., catheters, balloons, stents), maintaining sterility, and providing critical care during emergencies.

Post-Procedure Care: Monitoring the access site (femoral/radial), assessing for complications (bleeding, hematoma), administering recovery meds, and providing patient/family education on post-care and lifestyle.

Documentation & Collaboration: Accurate charting, managing paperwork, collaborating with the healthcare team, and coordinating discharge planning.

Emergency Response: Acting as a critical care nurse to handle emergencies like heart attacks or acute complications.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Skills: Critical thinking, acute observation, strong communication, ability to work under pressure, sterile technique, and knowledge of cardiac procedures.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse (GNC) license, ACLS/BLS certification, and experience in critical care or a cath lab setting are often required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
