Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CATIA V6 Automation Engineer to join our engineering team supporting Ford in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CATIA V6 customization, strong programming skills, and a solid background in the automotive domain. This role involves developing, automating, and optimizing CATIA V6 tools and processes to enhance design efficiency and quality.Key Responsibilities

• Develop and customize CATIA V6 applications using CAA (Component Application Architecture) and EKL (Engineering Knowledge Language).
• Design and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline design workflows and improve productivity.
• Integrate CATIA V6 with other enterprise engineering tools and systems.
• Support and troubleshoot CATIA V6 customization issues and provide solutions to design teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and implement innovative CAD solutions.
• Maintain and update documentation related to CATIA V6 customization and automation processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using CATIA V6.
• Strong proficiency in CAA and EKL for CATIA V6 customization.
• Solid programming skills in C++ and VB (Visual Basic).
• In-depth understanding of CATIA V6 part structure, including Geometrical Sets and Part Body.
• Proven experience in the automotive industry or related design/manufacturing domains.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CATIA V5–V6 migration projects.
• Familiarity with PLM systems such as ENOVIA V6.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, VBScript) for additional automation capabilities.
