CBA - Aircraft Mechanic - Power Plants - F5 Adversary Program- JRB Belle Chasse - New Orleans, LA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform aircraft engine/component troubleshooting using customer/OEM instructions.
  • Use engine test equipment as provided by the customer to troubleshoot and analyze engine operation in the aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot fuel leaks, remove and replace aircraft fuel cells
  • Provide guidance to mechanics within the work center or special work group by sharing technical knowledge to enhance accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Evaluate condition of engine and dynamic components requiring inspections as a result of operation outside of established parameters.
  • Assist in the removal and replacement of aircraft engines utilizing appropriate support equipment.
  • Work Orders in NALCOMIS/OOMA, Standard Navy Support Equipment, Lifts, Stands, Hoists.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

  • Must have successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company, State/Local Govt, DOD, regulation/Instruction.
  • Personnel shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned, i.e., “O” or “I” level.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent.
  • Will have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Maintain medical qualification and Pass respirator physical when directed by management.

Experience:

  • Aircraft mechanics shall have three year's experience in their specific aircraft maintenance occupational field. The last two years must have been as a practicing licensed FAA airframe and power plants mechanic; in the military (E-5 or above); civil service (WG-7-10), or with a government aviation maintenance Contractor

Skills & Technology Used:

  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to communicate professionally, courteously and respectfully.

Working Environment

The diversity of work conditions may range an environment where there is little to no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and electrical shock hazards.

Physical Activities

This classification activity requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with shop/hangar/flight line maintenance activities to include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, stretching, kneeling and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions, etc. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
