CBO Account Representative Full Time

POSITION GOAL

The CBO account representative is responsible for patient communications via third party communication and live interactions while ensuring timely patient satisfaction and resolution.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Central point of contact for patient calls within CBO
  • Submit insurance and patient refund requests for approval/processing
  • Resolution of Athena billing concerns related to patient payments
  • Posting patient payments within Athena
  • Responsible for explanation of payment plan policies/options and execution within Athena and third party vendors
  • Support team member for patient communication via Collectly and patient incoming/outgoing calls
  • Primary contact for patient incoming calls and third party vendor chats
  • Update insurance within practice management system
  • Refile claims to appropriate payer
  • Route calls within organization as applicable
  • Manage returned check process
  • Issue patient refunds
  • Manage incoming and returned mailed processes

Experience:

Required:

  • Two (2) years of Medical Collections experience Preferred:

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Special Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must have working experience in the following:
  • Insurance/claims processing
  • Posting
  • Modifier use
  • Understanding of EOB’s
  • Navigation of payor sites
  • HCFA\UB
  • Determining eligibility/co-insurance/ copayments and deductibles.
  • Must have knowledge of Front and Back End Medical Office Practices
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate follow-up and follow-through
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have exceptional multi-tasking ability-prioritization is a must
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have exceptional organizational and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) may be required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Prior.
  • Knowledge of the health care field and medical specialty.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 terminology.
  • Higher education preferred
  • CPAR preferred
  • Physician practice setting preferred
