CCTV Operator

The CCTV Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the CCTV system to ensure the security and safety of property and personnel. This role involves observing surveillance cameras, reporting suspicious activities, and maintaining the security equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring:
• Operate and monitor all surveillance security systems/cameras within the control center.
• Monitor the CCTV screens to detect and prevent crime, suspicious behavior, and safety hazards.
• Maintain a secure environment by monitoring access and surveillance systems.
• Reporting:
• Report incidents and suspicious behavior to the appropriate authorities.
• Keep detailed logs and records of observations, incidents, and actions taken.
• Prepare and submit reports for review by security management.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Ensure all surveillance equipment is operating effectively.
• Perform regular equipment checks and troubleshoot any malfunctions.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel for equipment repairs and replacements.
• Communication:
• Communicate effectively with security personnel, law enforcement, and emergency services when necessary.
• Provide clear and accurate information during incidents to facilitate appropriate responses.
• Respond to alarms and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve issues.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and legal regulations related to surveillance and privacy.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information and activities observed.
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure personal and public safety.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a security role or CCTV operation is preferred.
• Strong observational and analytical skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with CCTV and security software.

Skills:

• Proficiency in using surveillance systems and related equipment.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in observations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Work Environment:

• Work primarily in a control room environment.
• May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Extended periods of sitting and viewing screens.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
• Good visual acuity and hearing to monitor and interpret surveillance footage.
• Capable of operating equipment with precision.
