CCTV Technician

Job Description:

The CCTV Technician will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of surveillance camera systems across various environments. This role requires a strong technical acumen in video surveillance technology, along with an ability to assess security needs and implement effective surveillance solutions. The successful candidate will utilize analytical thinking to diagnose issues swiftly, ensure optimal functioning of CCTV systems, and produce comprehensive documentation and reports on system performance. A strong commitment to maintaining privacy compliance and understanding of data protection regulations is essential. The CCTV Technician will also work collaboratively with security personnel to enhance overall site safety and monitor real-time video feeds, providing timely responses to security incidents.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in CCTV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Proven expertise in configuring and utilizing various camera technologies, including IP cameras, analog systems, and digital video recorders (DVRs).
• Strong background in network connectivity and understanding of IP networking concepts related to CCTV equipment.
• Proficient in the latest surveillance software applications, including video management systems (VMS) and remote monitoring solutions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, particularly those relating to privacy and data security.
• Demonstrated capacity for analytical thinking, critical problem-solving, and sound decision-making under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various installation sites.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install and configure CCTV systems and components according to site-specific requirements and security needs.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime in surveillance operations.
• Assist in the design and development of comprehensive security solutions, integrating new technology as needed.
• Monitor live video feeds to identify potential security threats and coordinate responses with security staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installation processes, service reports, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and security teams to evaluate site surveillance needs and recommend improvements.
• Provide training to team members and staff on system operation and best practices for surveillance usage.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry developments, technologies, and regulations to continuously enhance skillset and effectiveness.
