JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Data Analyst is responsible for internal data requests from multiple individuals and service areas. Execute existing reports, edit and/or create new reports, analyze and summarize the data in a usable format for the requester. This internal data is essential for supporting Quality, Performance Improvement, and Financial performance initiatives, including Clinical Service Line performance.
Other internal data needs may include, but not limited to, generating performance metrics for the CDI Team, and quality analytic reporting for various other organizational initiatives. Providing data analysis to evaluate new CDI Program initiatives through ongoing metric analysis, tracking, trending, and reporting findings.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Experience
5 years acute care Hospital nursing experience, preferred in critical care and
3 years of experience working in a Clinical Documentation Integrity program
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Licenses and Certifications
(RN) REGISTERED NURSE and
(CCDS) Cert Clinical Documentation or
(CDIP) CERT DOCUMNTATN IMPROVMNT PRAC
Preferred
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
Previous experience in healthcare performance improvement and data analytics, or similar related experience
Extensive knowledge with excel spreadsheets and graphs
Previous experience working in a remote environment
JOB DUTIES
Ability to analyze data at a deeper level to get to the level of data requested
Support data needs as requested
Ensure reporting deadlines are met
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CDI data requests for the development of data reports and graphs; i.e. tracking of quality, productivity, and other metrics to facilitate quality and performance improvement efforts
Responsible for vetting the validity of other data requests from internal and external sources and providing data as appropriate
Maintains confidentiality of all data collected
Maintains an expert level of knowledge of CDI concepts and principles and expands knowledge through participation in continuing education programs
Maintains current understanding of CDI and enhances CDI skills to expand scope of data analytics, processes and trends relative to data reporting
Assists in upholding CDI team expectations, customer service standards, professionalism, operating procedures, processes, and other team strategies and goals
Assist in promoting a culture of support, continuous learning, and team work.
Performs other duties as assigned by CDI & Department Leadership
