CDL A Driver w/Tanker Endorsement

VLS Railcar Cleaning and Repair Services division provides specialty cleaning services for difficult-to-clean products, including chemicals, hardened materials, and pressurized gases, and comprehensive repair services for certified full-service repairs, tank car qualifications, and maintenance.

Marine Services

VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.

Requirements:

Summary:

The CDL Class A Driver II will be responsible for hauling Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste and must be experienced on all equipment. This includes the need to support operations during high demand times to ensure the success of the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Driver will be utilized as a utility driver - required to slip seat between a straight roll-off truck, tractor-trailer and possibly straight vacuum or oil truck as scheduling needs require.

2. Loading, unloading, and safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials and operation of all fleet equipment.

a. Types of equipment include, but are not limited to - vacuum tankers, bulk tankers, roll-off equipment, walking floor trailers, dump trailers, dry van trailers, and forklifts.

3. Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment while maintaining appearance of company equipment to meet company standards.

4. Interfacing and creating a Wow! Experience for our clients at the point of delivery.

5. Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/ or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.

6. Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after pickups.

7. Ability to make minor repairs is a plus (light bulbs, fuses, minor air leaks.

8. Ability to identify and report equipment malfunction or damage.

Requirements:

1. Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under the rules and regulations set forth in CFR 49 Part 391.15.

2. Possess a Valid commercial driver's license with at least three (3) years of verifiable driving experience.

3. CDL Driver must have good driving history and be able to pass background check.

4. Be physically and mentally qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle and pass a DOT physical as defined in 49 CFR Part 391.

5. This position requires a Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.

6. HazMat Endorsement preferred. We are willing to work with the right candidate to obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of employment.

7. Must be willing to obtain a transportation worker identification card (TWIC).

8. Be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

9. Efficiently able to operate a manual transmission (no automatic restriction).

10. Meet requirements and able to perform all the tasks essential duties of but not limited to the job description.

Physical Demands

1.. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

2.. Be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

3.. This position will require wearing personal protective equipment.

4.. Ability to do repetitive motion (lifting, pulling, and loading hoses/pumping totes and drums)
