Position Overview

The CDL-B Driver for local delivery and pick up plays a crucial part in the success of the manufacturing of restroom trailers for Satellite Suites. This role focuses on transporting assembled parts, materials, or products to both Suite’s locations and vendor facilities using vehicles and trailers that might require a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B (CDL-B). The successful candidate will ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery and pick-up while upholding Satellite standards and complying with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Local Deliveries and Pick-Ups: Safely operate a CDL-B vehicle to deliver products and materials to assigned locations within a designated local area. Ensure items are loaded and unloaded with care, following all protocols to prevent damage.

Route Management: Plan and follow efficient routes for pick-up and delivery, adjusting as necessary based on traffic, road conditions, or customer requests to ensure on-time service.

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip, end route, and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle. Document and report mechanical issues promptly.

Customer Service: Interact courteously and professionally with team members, management, and vendors during deliveries and pick-ups.

Communication: Maintain regular communication with warehouse staff, and management regarding route status, delivery issues, or changes in schedule.

Problem-Solving: Address and resolve delivery issues such as delays, customer complaints, or route changes efficiently and professionally.

Safety: Prioritize safety at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-B): Must possess an active CDL-B license, with a clean driving record demonstrating safe and responsible operation.

Experience: Prior experience as a commercial driver, particularly in local delivery or pick-up roles, is preferred. Experience with various cargo types is an asset.

Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (or more, depending on employer), and to spend extended periods driving or performing physical tasks.

Knowledge of Local Roads: Familiarity with the assigned delivery area’s streets, routes, traffic patterns, and regulations.

Customer Service Skills: Professional and courteous communication style, with the ability to build rapport and resolve issues effectively.
