Job Description:

Marques Food is a 77 year old locally owned food distribution company. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable CDL Driver to join our team. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for transporting food products and supplies to various destinations across the gulf coast, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. You will play a vital role in our food service operations, ensuring that our customers receive their orders in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate a food service truck to transport food products and supplies to designated locations

Unload food products and supplies from the truck using a ramp or liftgate (70% of fleet is equipped with a ramp or liftgate)

Verify and inspect deliveries for accuracy and quality, ensuring that all items meet the required standards

Dispatch varies between 4am and 11am

Adhere to all traffic and transportation regulations to ensure safety on the road

Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner, providing exceptional customer service

Handle documentation and paperwork accurately, including invoices, delivery receipts, and logs

Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or delays to the supervisor promptly

Follow company policies and procedures regarding food safety and hygiene

Qualifications:

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record

Previous experience as a truck driver or delivery driver is preferred but not required

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is a plus

Ability to lift heavy objects and operate equipment for unloading

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Must pass a background check and drug screening
