CDL Driver Recruiter

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a CDL Driver Recruiter and play a vital role in sourcing, engaging, and onboarding talented professional drivers to support our expanding transportation operations. This energetic position combines strategic talent acquisition with relationship management, ensuring we attract top-tier CDL-certified drivers who align with our company’s values and safety standards. As a CDL Driver Recruiter, you will leverage your expertise in recruiting and HR sourcing to build a robust pipeline of qualified candidates, contributing directly to the success and growth of our fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative recruiting strategies to attract qualified CDL drivers through social media management, cold calling, and lead generation techniques.
  • Conduct comprehensive interviews, assess candidate skills, and evaluate their suitability for the driver roles while ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle using ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) such as iCIMS, Workday, or Taleo to track candidate progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand staffing needs, create compelling job descriptions, and facilitate employee orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Build strong relationships with potential candidates via relationship management practices, including research on talent pools and campus recruitment initiatives.
  • Negotiate employment contracts and employment terms while ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing updates and managing expectations effectively.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical recruiting, HR sourcing, or executive recruiting within transportation or logistics industries.
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent communication skills to engage candidates and internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Familiarity with ATS platforms such as Salesforce, UltiPro, Kronos, Paychex, or PeopleSoft; experience with Workday or ADP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment & labor law, contracts management, employee evaluation processes, and employee relations practices.
  • Ability to perform research on talent markets and utilize social media management tools for lead generation.
  • Experience in campus recruitment, talent management, succession planning, training & development initiatives is desirable.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems like HRIS or iCIMS along with familiarity in leveraging tools such as Lever or Taleo for recruitment activities.
