Duties and Responsibilities:
· Compliance with the Code of Conduct and Ethics as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
· Maintains efficient operations of Community Development Services Office. Direct Supervisor of GIS staff, Administrative Assistants, and Building Field staff. Recruit/hire, train, direct, coach, counsel and discipline staff.
· Oversees and monitors daily work schedules, lunches and requests for time off. Manage bi-weekly timesheets. Maintains yearly Service Records (compensatory and PTO accrual and used).
· Monitors the Building Inspectors’ schedule/calendar in reference to all commercial and residential permits. Ensures timely review of permits.
· Monitors the Engineering Field Inspectors’ schedule/calendar in reference to all City projects.
· Introduction and implementation of ways to improve workflows for increased efficiency in customer service.
· Implementation of daily deposit procedures for accountability with receivables.
· Develop Standard Operating Procedures for multiple duties within Community Development Services used daily.
· Conversion of functions into Cityworks such as work orders, requests and labor. Member of the Cityworks Committee.
· Utility Right of Way invoicing and collections. Maintain Bonds for Right of Ways.
· Recording Secretary for the Stormwater Board.
· Scribe for Finance Meetings and Field Project Meetings.
· Prepare staff shifts for document purging and destruction within the parameters of the Record Retention law.
· Assists with yearly department budget preparation and monitors expenditures.
· Notary.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED required; additional college education or equivalent experience required.
· Experience: Previous work experience is preferred.
· Skills and Abilities: Strong office, oral and written communication skills. Exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision. Ability to manage others and work as a team player. Prioritize and work on multiple tasks concurrently. Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.
· Physical: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and be able to lift up to25 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,786.00 - $71,582.00 per year
