Primary Duties and

Responsibilities:

To assist the Advising Center in the College of Entertainment and Music Business. Provides office support for the CEMB advising center for daily operations regarding organizational, informational and communication needs to the center’s staff including answering phones, checking the CEMB advising email, lifting advisor holds during the semester as needed, providing overrides for courses approved, assisting and/or fielding student questions in regards to advising and student resource center needs and directing traffic during regular business hours

  • Assigns all CEMB students to faculty advisors in banner and communicates this to the students; handles change of major forms and other advising request forms within the Curb College
  • Handles all communication to students regarding advising as well as handling communication to the faculty regarding advising including pulling their individual advisee reports and sending to them
  • Provides support to the Director of Advising with training and faculty assistance for all things advising
  • Assists with student scheduling and advising during the registration period each semester
  • Provides support during TT (every Summer) which includes pulling current lists of students, lifting holds, opening seats for courses in classfinder and assisting with the registration process
  • Assists with the advising process for students whose faculty advisor is out on sabbatical or medical leave
  • Maintain student files online (includes scanning/indexing all advising forms into online database – WebX)
  • Manages the student workers for the center
  • Other duties assigned

    Required Education
    High school diploma required. Some college coursework preferred.


    Required Experience
    2-4 years previous work in a professional office environment required.


    The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
