Position Overview:
The Central Supply Manager manages and directs the supply chain and purchase services for the surgical services department. Performs the functions of a specialized central supply service, such as inventory management, requisition approval, spend analysis and intermediary. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Oversee purchasing and inventory management, ensuring adequate supply levels and timely procurement of medical equipment and supplies.
Supervise central service staff, including scheduling, assigning work, and overseeing sterilization, decontamination, packaging, and distribution processes.
Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and quality control standards to ensure safety, compliance, and consistent service delivery.
Monitor demand trends and operational needs, adjusting ordering, processing, and logistics to support patient care efficiently.
Evaluate, recommend, and budget for new or replacement equipment and supplies, including vendor coordination and product assessment.
Qualifications:
1–2 years of experience in Central Supply or materials management, preferably in a healthcare or skilled-nursing setting.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to medical supplies, infection control, and compliance.
Proficiency in inventory management systems with high attention to accuracy, reporting, and data analysis.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage staff and collaborate with departments and vendors.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field, with professional certifications (e.g., CMRP, CHL, CIS, CHRMM) preferred but not required.
