Certified Dog Behavior Consultant/Trainer

At least one of the following Certifications is required:

CBCC-KA

IAABC (ACDBC or CDBC)

PCBC-A,

CBST

CAAB (or ACAAB)

Duties:

Behavior Assessments and Behavior Modification

  • Assess and evaluate dogs' behavior and temperament
  • Knowledge about Reactivity and Aggression in Dogs
  • Create customized training plans to address specific behavioral issues
  • Keep notes and document in our Software

Private Lessons (in home and at the Facility)

  • Assess and evaluate dogs' behavior and temperament
  • Create customized training plans to address specific behavioral issues
  • Keep notes and document in our Software

Classes

  • Teach basic manners such as sit, stay, and come
  • Develop classes on different subjects and teach

Dayschool/Board and Train

  • Conduct dog training sessions using positive reinforcement techniques
  • Perform Meet&Greets
  • Perform Orientations for Boarding and Dayschool
  • Train Board&Train Dogs
  • Walk Boarding Only Dogs
  • Document Training with Pawgress Reports with photo/video and in writing
  • Assist with kennel duties, including feeding, cleaning, and exercise when needed
  • Run Playgroups as needed
  • Checking in Dogs as needed
  • Take payments as needed
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the well-being of all dogs in the facility

Other

  • Supervise Apprentices
  • Complete client waivers
  • Obtain Vaccination Records. Upload and enter in Gingr
  • Maintain HoD Standards
  • Work with your team to complete all tasks
  • Offer exceptional customer service to clients and address any concerns or questions they may have

Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a dog trainer / behavior consultant
  • Experience with Reactive and/or Aggressive Dogs
  • Knowledge of different dog breeds and their specific needs
  • Sound knowledge of positive reinforcement training methods
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt training techniques to individual dogs' needs

Please note that this position may require heavy lifting at times

Can you give the owner dog team the tools to communicate effectively, we would like to hear from you. We want to teach the dogs the rules of living as a canine in a human world, respectively, we strive to teach the Human the finer points of canine communication. If you can be that translator, we would like to hear from you.

Compensation

Please note that the hourly rates posted are estimated, as you will be paid on commission and with classes and private lessons, your hourly wage will be much higher. We will discuss in the interview.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
