Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical environment, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center. This position requires proficiency in medical terminology, medication administration, and the ability to work effectively with geriatric patients. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for both clinical and administrative tasks that support the smooth operation of our facility.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
• Record vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent information in patient records.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control procedures.
• Utilize coding systems for accurate documentation of patient care services.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to provide comprehensive care to inpatient populations.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to various specialties, including geriatrics.
• Experience in a hospital setting, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center, is preferred.
• Proficiency in medication administration techniques and vital sign assessment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and coding practices is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel up to 25% to other locations as required .

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
