Certified Medical Assistant

A Medical Assistant, or a Clinical Assistant, is responsible for assisting Doctors in providing care to their patients. Their duties include recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments and performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals or collecting lab samples.

Measure and record vital signs and document filing in patient's chart. Administer injections, perform lab test, EKG. Send prescriptions electronically. Verbally call in prescription refills. Assist during medical examinations. Triage patient calls, assess the problem and consult with the physician. Prepare and clean exam rooms and medical instruments. Knowledge of medical office skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Excellent time management skills. Function as a Team Player. Punctual and well disciplined.

Medical Assistants may perform the following duties:

  • Schedule appointments
  • Obtain blood samples
  • Perform data entry
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Clean exam rooms
  • Answer phone calls

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Proficiency in medical administrative support and patient care
  • Experience with EHR systems and medical terminology
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessments and blood sampling
  • Knowledge of basic life support and triage procedures
  • Familiarity with hospital settings, including inpatient and outpatient care
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
