Position Overview

Thomas Medical is a busy, patient-centered functional medicine practice seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. This is a blended role that is primarily clinical with additional front-office clerical support. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care while helping ensure smooth daily operations in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties (Primary Focus):

Room patients, obtain vital signs, and perform initial patient assessments.

Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor treatments.

Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and other in-house clinical tasks as needed.

Prepare and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment.

Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Clerical / Administrative Duties:

Perform patient check-in and check-out.

Collect payments, post charges, and handle basic billing inquiries.

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient communications.

Assist with general office tasks to support efficient clinic flow.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and team members.

Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

Qualifications

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred.

Experience in functional, integrative, or primary care medicine is a plus.

Strong phlebotomy and clinical skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, personable demeanor.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.

Genuine interest in functional medicine and supporting whole-person health.
