Certified Medical Assistant

SIGNING BONUS- $2,000.00

Position for Riverview & Tampa Locations. Must be willing to travel to both. Distance between both offices is about 15-20 minutes. Please only apply if willing to travel.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Verifying patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
• Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
• Assist physician with minor procedures performed at the office. (Need not be certified, in-house training.)
• Securing patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
• Counseling patients about procedures or surgeries ordered.
• Scheduling surgeries by making arrangements with the surgical center & hospitals, verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms.
• Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
• Serving and protecting the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Enhancing practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills and Qualifications: Certification preferred. Experience of at least 1 year is a must.
