Certified Medical Assistant

Description:

Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Head & Neck Surgery team. The CMA will play a vital role in supporting physicians and advanced practice providers by delivering exceptional patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring efficient daily operations within a fast-paced specialty practice. The ideal candidate is highly organized, patient-focused, and experienced in providing clinical support in a specialty healthcare setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
• Assist physicians and providers during examinations, biopsies, minor procedures, and treatments
• Administer injections, medications, and perform clinical procedures within scope of practice
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
• Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other diagnostic procedures as directed
• Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, pre-operative and post-operative instructions
• Coordinate referrals, imaging studies, laboratory testing, and specialty consultations
• Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies
• Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and company policies and procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism
• Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification required
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a specialty practice preferred
• Experience in ENT, Head & Neck Surgery, Oncology, General Surgery, or related specialty preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity necessary to perform clinical procedures and computer-based tasks

• Frequent interaction with patients, physicians, providers, and healthcare staff
• Exposure to clinical and surgical patient care environments
