Job Summary
Join our busy, high-volume dermatology and skin surgery specialty practice as a Certified Medical Assistant and Scribe. You will play a vital role in patient care, serving as both a clinical assistant and a medical scribe for our providers.
Responsibilities
- Medical Scribing: Accurately document patient history, physical exams, and treatment plans in the EMR in real-time.
- Clinical Assisting: Prepare patients for exams and assist providers with biopsies, surgical excisions, and other dermatological procedures.
- Patient Flow: Maintain an efficient schedule in a fast-paced specialty environment.
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories, vital signs, and current medications with professionalism and empathy.
- Accurately document clinical encounters using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring completeness and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and dermatological specialty procedures.
- Support patient care activities including medication administration, wound care, and basic life support (BLS) when necessary.
- Manage medical administrative tasks such as ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient records, scheduling follow-ups, and coordinating referrals.
- Qualifications:
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program is required.
- High level of dependability and punctuality.
- Strong medical terminology and typing skills.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical documentation standards to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including vital signs collection, intake assessments, and basic life support (BLS).
- Prior experience working in dermatology, urgent care, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units will be considered an asset.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
