Certified Medical Assistant Oncology

Location: Chicago, IL
Facility: Ascension Saint Joseph
Department: Oncology
Schedule: Day shift l PRN
Salary range: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
How you'll make an impact in this role:
  • Support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting with examinations and treatments under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
  • Clinical Care and Intake Management: Provide direct support for treatments and procedures, supervised by a provider or Registered Nurse. This includes preparing treatment rooms, conducting patient interviews, and accurately measuring and recording patient vital signs on charts.
  • Operational and Administrative Support: Maintain an orderly and efficient environment by performing essential clerical duties (e.g., answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing) and executing basic materials management functions, including ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Documentation: Transcribe patient orders for laboratory tests.
What minimum qualifications you'll need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcare Association (NHA) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) also accepted.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education OR experience, if applicable.
What additional requirements you'll need:
  • 1 year work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.
  • Outpatient experience.
