Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Medical Assistant to join our urology medical office. Under the supervision of a licensed provider, the Medical Assistant will support clinical operations, assist with urologic patient care, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient medical office environment.
Responsibilities
- Room and prepare patients; verify patient information and document reason for visit
- Assist providers with urology exams and procedures within scope of practice
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, injections, specimen collection, catheter care/changes, and urinalysis
- Collect and process lab specimens in compliance with CLIA standards
- Document patient care and charges in the EMR
- Contact patients with lab and pathology results as directed
- Process prescription refill requests per office protocol
- Clean, stock, and disinfect exam rooms and medical equipment
- Answer phones and provide professional, courteous customer service
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, PPE, and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required
- Medical office experience preferred; urology experience a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile technique
- Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with EMR systems and basic computer skills
- Clear, professional phone and in-person communication
- Bilingual a plus, not required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Exposure to bodily fluids and clinical hazards; PPE required.
