CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSITANT

Job Overview
We are a fast-paced pain management practice seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative functions. This role requires a high level of organization, efficiency, and the ability to multitask while maintaining excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with prior authorizations for medications and interventional procedures and be comfortable working independently to help maintain clinic flow. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, supporting providers, and delivering quality care to patients.

Duties

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage daily clinic schedule
  • Triage incoming calls and address patient concerns appropriately
  • Send in medications and assist with prescription management
  • Complete prior authorizations for imaging, procedures, and medications
  • Prepare and work up patients for providers (vitals, chief complaint, history, documentation)
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Prepare prescriptions and run OARRS reports as required
  • Coordinate and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Assist in maintaining efficient clinic flow and overall daily operations

Experience

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred OR minimum of 3+ years Medical Assistant experience required
  • Prior authorization experience required (medications, imaging, and procedures)
  • EMR experience required
  • eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience preferred
  • Pain management experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate with strong relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour

A fingerprint-based background check is required for this position as part of compliance and patient safety standards for Ohio healthcare settings, including pain management practices.

Candidates must pass the background check with no disqualifying findings, which include (but are not limited to):

Any felony conviction
Any violent crimes (assault, domestic violence, robbery, etc.)
Any theft, fraud, or financial exploitation offenses
Any drug-related felonies or recent controlled substance offenses
Any patient abuse, neglect, or exploitation findings
Any exclusion from Medicare, Medicaid, or federal healthcare programs (OIG/SAM exclusions)
Any pending criminal charges that could impact patient care responsibilities
