Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Tech/Caregiver to provide high-quality support and medical assistance to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, assisted living, or nursing home environments, with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or memory care needs. Duties
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for residents or patients.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Support patients with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or other medical procedures under supervision of nursing staff.
- Document all patient interactions and medical information clearly and accurately within medical records systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Recognize signs of health deterioration or emergencies and respond promptly by notifying appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide compassionate care tailored to individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments within memory or hospice care environments.
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control procedures and safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to patient care.
- Hands-on experience with medical documentation including vital signs monitoring and medication administration.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Experience caring for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hospice care practices and working with terminally ill patients is a plus.
