Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Location: Belmont, NC – Misericordia Community of the Sisters of Mercy
Schedule: Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Pay Range: $17.00 – $23.00/hour (based on experience)

About the Role
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) supports the nursing team by providing compassionate, person-centered care to the Sisters living in the convent. This role plays a vital part in maintaining residents’ dignity, comfort, and well-being through direct personal care and daily support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Monitor and record vital signs, weights, and changes in health status, reporting to nursing leadership as needed.
• Assist residents with meals, hydration, and maintaining skin integrity and comfort.
• Promote independence and social engagement through encouragement and participation in activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified living environment for residents.
• Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures at all times.
• Communicate effectively with Sisters, co-workers, visitors, and nursing staff.
• Support the mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy through respectful, service-oriented care.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active CNA or STNA certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training
• Experience working with geriatric or special needs populations
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs and assist safely with resident mobility

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a healthcare, non-profit, or religious organization
• Understanding and appreciation of the Catholic tradition and the mission of the Sisters of Mercy
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a variety of situations
• Leadership, mentoring, or training experience
