Certified Nursing Assistant and Med Tech

This dual-role position provides care as both a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Medication Assistant (Med Tech) in our Skilled Care Unit, supporting residents' health, safety, and quality of life.

Available Position:

CNA/Med Tech

Schedule: 2-3 days per week
Shifts: 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM while working as a Med Tech 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM while working as a CNA
28-36 hours per week

Located in Lisbon, North Dakota, the North Dakota Veterans Home is a long-term care community dedicated to honoring and serving our nation's Veterans and eligible family members. The home includes two basic care pods and one skilled care pod. Duties and Tasks

  • Administer and document medications in accordance with NDVH policies and procedures
  • Monitor residents and report changes to nursing staff
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and transfers
  • Take and record vital signs
  • Support behavioral interventions and resident well-being
  • Plan and participate in daily activities based on resident interests
  • Provide one-on-one engagement and support participation in programs
  • Encourage independence and meaningful daily routines
  • Complete accurate and timely charting and documentation
  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and NDVH standards
  • Assist with meal preparation, service, and resident dining needs
  • Ensure prescribed diets are followed and encourage hydration
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and resident transitions
  • Support daily household operations and inventory
  • Participate in committees and quality initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Medication Assistant II (Med Tech) certification
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
