Job Overview

We are currently seeking Certified Professional Coders with experience in pathology to join our forward-thinking coding team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating directly with clients to ensure accurate documentation, proper charge capture, and compliance with ever-evolving industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and abstract medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for pathology services
• Apply CPT coding guidelines related to separate procedures, bundling, and add-on codes
• Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, including NCCI Edits, MIPS, and NCD/LCD policies
• Communicate with providers or client teams to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies
• Stay up to date with industry changes, payer-specific requirements, and coding policies

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent certification)
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding and CPT coding for pathology
• Strong knowledge of CMS initiatives and reimbursement guidelines
• Experience with NCCI Edits, MIPS reporting, and LCD/NCD rules
• 2+ years of pathology coding experience preferred
• Hospital-based coding experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
