Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting patient care by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals in a hospital or acute care setting. Your expertise in medical terminology and medication administration will be essential in providing high-quality patient service.

Duties

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Update patient profiles, and enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer.
  • Assists in filling prescriptions and processing third party insurance claims.
  • Orders, receives, tags and stocks prescription drugs and over the counter supplies.
  • Stock over the counter merchandise as order shipments are received daily
  • Assists at customer service counter ringing up orders.
  • Ensures proper cleanup of pharmacy and disposal/returns of hazardous materials.
  • Perform inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and checking expiration dates of medications.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with pharmacy practices and advancements.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is a plus.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality service to patients and their families.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
