Certified Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding.
  • Manage medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions against medical orders and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Assist with patient service activities such as medication administration support and providing medication information to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards, HRSA protocols, and pharmacy regulations to ensure safe medication handling.
  • Perform inventory management tasks, including stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Uphold high standards of patient care by practicing aseptic techniques during sterile preparations and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; current licensure or registration as required by state or local regulations.
  • Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within a 340B pharmacy.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration processes, and pharmacy operations.
  • Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
