Certified Pharmacy Technician
Advanced Rx Pharmacy is a physician-owned clinical and compounding pharmacy associated with Advanced Pain Care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate with physicians, patients, insurance companies on a regular basis

Receive refill requests from patients and obtain authorization for refills from physician’s offices

Prepare various non-sterile compounds including, but not limited to, suspensions, solutions, creams, ointments, suppositories, capsules, etc.

Accurately weigh and prepare the ingredients for compound medications according to the designated formula worksheet specifications while following all applicable and appropriate compounding guidelines and quality standards

Package and label the medications in an appropriate dispensing device

Ensure the pharmacist on duty has signed off and verified the formulations according to the prescription prior to commencing compound preparation

Maintain patient’s confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and participate in required training whenever necessary

Must properly control the release of proprietary and confidential information

Comply with all record keeping requirements as determined by management

Prepares third-party insurance claims and prepare TARs
-
Order, receive, and stock prescription drugs & supplies

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy throughout the day

Maintains regular and predictable attendance
-
Adheres to company policies and procedures

Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high volume pharmacies

Maintains certifications and continuing educational requirement
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
-
Ability to type 35 words per minute
-
Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical tasks
-
Excellent multi-tasking, accuracy, and attention to detail skills
-
Prior authorization/insurance experience
-
State Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
-
Ability to calibrate, utilize, and maintain, delicate pieces of expensive machinery and software to complete appropriate dosage forms in a timely manner

Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills
-
Medisca, Freedom or PCCA compounding training certification desirable

Current PTCB Certification
-
Familiarity with non-sterile compounds preferred

Must be able to work as scheduled – typically from 8:00 – 5:00

Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time

Must be able to bend, stoop and stretch

Must be able to lift and move boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.

Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.
