Certified Public Accountant

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations including general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
  • Perform financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Oversee corporate accounting functions such as journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits to uphold financial integrity.
  • Support tax preparation efforts by maintaining accurate records of tax experience related to Wills, trusts & estate law, non-profit accounting, or securities law as applicable.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient financial management.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to optimize cash flow analysis and financial performance.
  • Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required; active licensure preferred.
  • Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a strong foundation in technical accounting principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and governmental accounting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or equivalent tools; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, accruals, and double entry bookkeeping.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, financial report interpretation, regulatory reporting, and audit support.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform cash flow analysis, account reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting confidently.
  • Ability to mentor team members effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of securities law or non-profit accounting is a plus; familiarity with technical accounting topics like Wills & estate law enhances your candidacy.
