Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in accounting principles and financial regulations to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Duties
- Helping the Business Development team to close sales.
- Client management.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory standards.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage tax filings and compliance activities, including tax accounting, estate planning considerations, and adherence to securities law where applicable.
- Support auditing processes by providing documentation, performing internal controls assessments, and ensuring SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
- Assist with financial report writing and interpretation to inform strategic decision-making for management and stakeholders.
- Perform account analysis related to mergers & acquisitions, asset management, private equity investments, and non-profit accounting as needed.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial software integration.
- Contribute to budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and supporting forecasting efforts.
- Engage in financial planning activities including investment analysis and financial services support.
- Ensure accurate regulatory reporting by maintaining compliance with industry standards and legal requirements related to securities law and other regulations.
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred with a strong foundation in public accounting practices.
- Proven experience in tax experience, corporate accounting, auditing, or related fields with a solid understanding of GAAP standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software tools is essential.
- Knowledge of specialized areas such as estate planning, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), securities law compliance, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), non-profit accounting or private equity is highly desirable.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for reporting purposes.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports and collaborating across teams.
- Experience with regulatory reporting requirements and technical accounting standards is preferred.
