We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Chartering Executive to join our growing maritime team in Abu Dhabi. This role is ideal for a candidate with solid experience in container vessel chartering, voyage execution, and market analytics. You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and partners to deliver exceptional chartering services across the region.

Job Purpose


The Chartering Executive will manage day-to-day commercial operations related to chartering of container vessels, including negotiation, voyage planning, rate monitoring, documentation, and client engagement. This role is vital in ensuring commercial profitability, client satisfaction, and smooth coordination with operations.



Responsibilities


Core Responsibilities

• Market and develop chartering business opportunities.

• Handle voyage and time charter calculations.

• Negotiate vessel bookings and charter/tender agreements.

• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth voyage execution.

• Monitor market rates and trends and prepare regular analysis reports.

• Manage post-fixture matters, billing approvals, and document tracking.

• Enforce operational safety and environmental standards.

• Maintain the IMOS VIP system and perform post-voyage analysis.


Strategic Management

• Analyze competitive landscape to improve rate positioning.

• Optimize voyage performance and reduce cost inefficiencies.

• Coordinate with internal teams to align commercial and operational goals.


People Leadership

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments (contracts, operations, and billing).

• Act as a key point of contact between external clients and internal stakeholders.


Qualifications


Education

• Master’s degree or Diploma in Marine Transportation or related field.

• Engineering background with a Master in Shipping & Management is a plus.


Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in container chartering.

• Prior experience in shipowner/operator desk is essential.


Languages

• English: Fluent (spoken and written)

Technical Skills

• Chartering calculations (Voyage & Time)

• IMOS software proficiency

• Understanding of container carriage and stowage planning

• Commercial and operational documentation


Soft Skills

• Client relationship management

• Strong communication and negotiation

• Market awareness and commercial analysis

• Multi-tasking and organizational skills


Preferred Certifications

• Not mandatory, but certifications in maritime commerce or shipping management are a plus.
