We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry & Bakery professional to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pastry techniques, bread-making, desserts, and cake preparation, coupled with creativity, precision, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, and present a wide variety of breads, viennoiserie, pastries, cakes, tarts, and plated desserts.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation according to recipes and brand standards.
- Contribute to menu planning and the development of new pastry and bakery items.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning of the pastry & bakery section.
- Monitor ingredient stocks and assist in procurement to minimize wastage.
- Strictly adhere to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Train, mentor, and guide junior staff and commis in pastry and bakery techniques.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in pastry and bakery operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of pastry, desserts, and bread-making.
- Creative and detail-oriented with an eye for presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP practices.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills to guide junior staff.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to handle kitchen tasks, including prolonged standing and lifting.
